The Day of People's Unity is the national holiday in Kazakhstan, which is being celebrated annually on May 1. Celebration of the holiday began in 1996. Canceling the celebration of Labor Day, in October 18, 1995, the President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev signed the decree declaring May 1 as the Day of the People's Unity of Kazakhstan.
