As part of the celebration of the Capital Day and the International Specialized Exhibition “EXPO-2017,” a celebration of Caucasian culture was held; this is the second event from the cycle "Day of Ethnicity".
The “Day of Ethnicity” is a series of events that will be held throughout the year. The audience will be given the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture, traditions and customs of the East, the Caucasus, European and Slavic culture, plunge into the atmosphere of hospitality, goodness and positive emotions. The events are aimed at promoting the culture and traditions of ethnic groups living in the capital, demonstrating the achievements of ethno-cultural associations of the city.
The organizer of this event was the capital Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
During the event, residents and guests of the capital were presented with a concert-entertainment program with the participation of Caucasian ethno-cultural associations: Azerbaijani “Khazar", Armenian cultural center "Van", Chechen-Ingush ethno-cultural center "Vainakh", Georgian public cultural center "Kolkheti", which allowed seeing the multifaceted creativity of representatives of ethno-cultural associations of the Caucasus.
The Caucasus is a region with the oldest history and the richest original culture. Caucasian dances, full of inimitable national color, temperament and unique character of performance, have gained immense popularity. The program of the festival included choreographic and vocal performances of ethno-cultural associations. Incendiary lezghinka, lyrical songs conquered the audience with their performance, in every sound and movement Caucasian caution and grace were read. The demonstrative performance of the sports team "BAR BARS", consisting of titled athletes, caused a storm of applause. The audience also had the opportunity to see an exhibition of arts and crafts and eat national food.
"Day of Ethnicity" is not just a holiday; it is a holiday of unity of all cultures inherent in our multinational Kazakhstan. The symbol of the "Day of Ethnicity" will be "Carpet of Friendship" embodying the unity and harmony of all the peoples living in our capital. The Kazakh ornament, located in the center of the carpet, will serve as a unifying element of 24 national patterns, represented by ethno-cultural associations. At the end of the year the ready "Carpet of Friendship" will be presented at the final event of the "Day of Ethnicity".
"Conducted festivals are aimed at promoting the culture and traditions of ethnic groups living in the capital, demonstrating the achievements of ethno-cultural associations of the city," noted the head of Municipal Institution "Kogamdyk kelisim" under the akimat of Astana Bakhytzhan Abildinov.
