In 1891 military fortress Ak-Tobe officially was renamed to the city of Aktyubinsk

124 years ago military fortress Ak-Tobe officially was renamed to the city of Aktyubinsk. Later it was joined to Turgay region. In March, 1932 Aktyubinsk became the center of Aktyubinsk region. On March 11, 1999, by the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan Aktyubinsk renamed to Aktobe.
