Yermukhan Bekmakhanov was born in 1915 in Bayan-Aul region. He grew an orphan. His only brother Dinshi died in 1930, and his sister with mother - in 1933 from hunger. Yermukhan was of Chingisid descent, and the decsendant of the khan of the Middle zhuz Uali, Abylay khan's son from the second wife-Kalmyk. Yermukhan Bekmakhanov - the first Kazakh - Doctor of Historical Sciences, founder of the Department of the History of Kazakhstan in Kazakh State University named after S.Kirov. However, his merit was not in that. He was the first one, who objectively told about the movement of Kenesary Kasymov.
