“Round table” on “The President and Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan”

November 14, 2013, at the Institute of History of State held a “Round table” on “The President and Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The participants are the Deputies of the Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan of the 5th convocation, members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security, lieutenant-generals Bakhytzhan Yertayev and Abay Tasbulatov, as well as researcher of the Institute and teachers at Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov.

One of the most important factors of the state independence is the Armed Forces that provide security, political and territorial interests of a sovereign country. Creation of the Armed Forces of independent Kazakhstan took place in the early 1990s under the direct supervision of the Head of State N. Nazarbayev. That was why the participants of "round table" again returned to this topic that has such importance to the independent Kazakhstan.

B. Yertayev and A. Tasbulatov were at the beginning of formation of Armed Forces of the Kazakhstan and were awarded with many state awards for big merits.

Relying on the legal right to create own armed forces, B. Yertayev noted, that on May 7,1992, the President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev signed a decree on the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Kazakhstan that was confirmed in the agreement of the Council of head of states — participant of the CIS on Armed Forces and border troops. April 9, 1993, the law on “Defense and Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, which became the basis for the development of many other documents ensuring the military security of the state, was adopted. From 1993 and subsequent year were devoted to stabilize the situation in the armed forces, the elimination of the consequences caused by the collapse of Armed Forces of the USSR, as well as the organization of the training. In 1993 was adopted the first Military Doctrine of Kazakhstan. It has been focused on the formation of the system of military security at the stage of formation sovereign state. The creation of own Armed Forces required major changes in the training system of military personnel.  

The participants of “Round table” emphasized on that problems, which had to be overcome during the process of creation and development of Kazakhstani Army. All huge effort that was put in the 90s, the difficult period for people, gave its results. The result of that big work is the Army of renewed and independent Kazakhstan,

The Army of nowadays independent Kazakhstan is the result of that big work. Year by year it develops its strength and increases the readiness. Today the transformation from military service on contract basis is continuing. Young generation of Kazakh soldiers is developing a new technique and equipment to protect the borders and democratic gains.   

According to the participants of “Round table”, the historical importance in formation and development of Armed Forces of Kazakhstan is due to President of Kazakhstan.

Professor A.Tasbulatov emphasized on importance of historical knowledge in the raise the patriotic education, particularly among the young generation in Kazakhstan. Books, which include special features of formation and development of independent Kazakhstan and representing the role of the first President of Kazakhstan, have to promptly be brought to young reader and correctly explained.

Today Kazakhstan is the largest Eurasian country achievements of which are recognized by the global communities in the West, East and CIS.
