On August 22, at 11:00 Book festival “Reading generation — future of Kazakhstan” dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh khanate, the 70th anniversary in the Great Patriotic War, the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 20th Assembly of people of Kazakhstan will be held on “Nurzhol” boulevard and coincided with the beginning of new academic year.
Its main objective is the awareness campaign of the book, contribution to spiritual and moral education of the younger generation, the revival of interest to literature and reading among young people.
Famous public and state figures of the country, clerisy — Zh. Abdildin, A. Tarazi, R. Mukanova, T. Abdik, K. Sak, K. Bolmanov, K. Abildina, B. Samedinova and extraordinary and authorized ambassadors of the foreign countries, accredited in Astana, publishing houses and bookselling companies will take participation in the festival.
The program of the festival includes various events, covering all categories of the population. These are the flash book “A minute for reading”, flash mob “Everything starts with the book”, presentation of a mobile library QR-code, events in the framework of the action “One country — one book” — “Novel “Nomads” as a mirror of the nomadic civilization”, presentation of the book “Words that changed Kazakhstan” by Evgeny Kochetov, “Lesson of the courage “Self-sacrificing Aliya”, book fair, gift action, exhibition “Writers-jubilarians of 2015 — Nobel laureates”, meeting with the reading youth “Youth reads the classics”, “Readers recommend”. Online-meeting with the regional libraries of Kazakhstan will be held during the festival.
Poetry marathon “Immeasurable gratitude to you, poetry!” and poetry hour “A son of Kazakh people” dedicated to the anniversary of the writer Tumanbay Moldagaliyev and concert will be organized. The librarians of Akmola region will perform with the program “Anniversary dates of 2015 year”.
The festival is aimed to remind citizens that the book still holds the leading position among other media in the age of new technologies and reading also brings pleasure. Moreover, an opportunity to get acquainted with new books, to meet with famous writers and poets, to know more about preferable authors and spend time with benefits will be given on the festival.
