The seminar on the topic “History of Kazakhstan”: the concept and experience of systematization of scientific and educational web content was held today at the Institute of History and Ethnology

The theoretical and practical seminar on the topic “History of Kazakhstan”: the concept and experience of systematization of scientific and educational web content was held today at the Institute of History and Ethnology named after C. Valikhanov.

  The opening speech was delivered by the director of the Institute, a member of NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of History, Professor J.M. Abzhanov.

  In his speech, he noted that the conducted scientific workshop is dedicated to the work of the web portal "History of Kazakhstan", which is an integral part of the national historical science. The aim of this seminar is the revitalization of the portal. The speaker noted that during the filling of the web portal with content, the staff of the Institute conducted several expeditions to the regions of Kazakhstan in order to gather material for the sections of the portal "Oral History, "Local History", "Secrets of the Kazakh ornaments”, “Shezhire - Kazakhs unity tree”). The work on updating the content of the portal should not only involve the research institutes, but also the higher educational institutes.

  In his speech, head of the Internet project "History of Kazakhstan", JSC "Kazcontent" D.R. Yesdauletov paid attention to the areas of work, in particular to the importance of a web portal in the formation of historical consciousness of society.

  In his report, the chief expert of the Department of Science and Technology Policy of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan C. Myrzakulov presented the report on the results of the collection and distribution of information on the web portal (launched in the summer of 2013). He noted that the materials posted on the web portal (monographs, articles, tutorials, videos) are used not only by Kazakhstani users, but also by foreign users.

  In his report, the chief editor of the web portal "History of Kazakhstan" C. Kapenov paid special attention to the value of each of the sections of the web portal, the examination of  provided material , the copyright ion the works that are posted on the portal as well as the use of the web portal.

  The scientific consultant of web portal "History of Kazakhstan", the chief researcher at the Institute of History of State A.M. Auanasova and the Senior Expert of the Institute of History of State A. Sulejmenov devoted their speech to the content of the web portal that covered the history of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present. They noted the importance of a web portal in terms of bringing together the humanities and its role in fostering of patriotism.

  In his speech, Senior Researcher of the Institute of History and Ethnology, Doctor of Historical Science, K.S. Alimgazinov focused on the issues of quality of the uploaded materials, as well as on issues of publication of electronic journal and articles on topical issues in the history of Kazakhstan, which would cover a larger number of Internet users.

  The Associate Professor of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi E.D. Teleuova highlighted the importance of a web portal in terms of creating a unified system of teaching of national history.

  Senior Lecturer of Kyzylorda State University named after Korkyt Ata B. Akhmetbek, focused on the use of a web portal for students for education. He told the audience about the materials provided by the Kyzylorda region.

  The staff of the Institute of History and Ethnology, Candidate of Historical Sciences Z.K Nogaeva, Ph.D., Associate Professor Z.M. Tolenova, Ph.D., A.T. Abdulina and Ph.D., G.U. Orynbayeva talked about the historical significance of the materials that were collected during the ethno-historical expeditions.

An exchange of views and suggestions was held upon the completion of program.
