71 years ago, the Council of People’s Commissars of the Kazakh SSR adopted the Decree on the opening State Institute of Arts in Almaty in October 1, 1944. Later this Institute was transformed into Almaty Conservatory and in 1945 it was named after the outstanding Kazakh kuishi of 19th century Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev. Nowadays, this Institution called Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy.
