The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Spain were established of February 10, 1992. Spain is one of the key political partners of Kazakhstan in Europe. The relations between the two countries are developing in an atmosphere of understanding and trust. The positions of the two countries on major issues of international politics are similar. Spain is the second European country with which Kazakhstan has signed a strategic partnership agreement (2009). Spain was one of the most consistent supporters of Kazakhstan's bid to chair in the OSCE. Spain considers Kazakhstan as a stabilizing factor in the region of Central Asia, an example of religious and ethnic tolerance. All the economic and democratic transformations in our country will receive a full appreciation and support. The dynamic and content nature of the summits, indicates the special importance of the bilateral partnership. Established a constant and productive contact between the heads of state. The cooperation at the level of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Spain and their leaders are well-developed. The Intergovernmental Kazakh and Spanish Commission for Cooperation in Economy and Industry (IPC) is one of the important mechanisms of economic and trade cooperation. The responsible authority of the Kazakh side is the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Spanish is the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
