The Supreme Council adopted the Law "On Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan"

The Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the Law, dated January 17 1992, “On Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan” according to which, the prosecutor's office became the organ of the supreme supervision over the execution of laws, accountable to the Supreme Council. Later they were embodied in the Constitution, which was adopted on the national referendum on August 30, 1995 and in the Presidential Decree having the force of law, dated December 21 1995, "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan." The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan embodied the status of prosecutors, their specific powers and accountability to the President of the Republic. In one of his speeches, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the role of the prosecution is the core of the entire law enforcement system.
