81 ago National Drama Theatre named after Mikhail Lermontov, whose team was formed in Semipalatinsk, was opened in Almaty. The theater opened on the staging of «Lubov Yarovaya» of K. Trenev. For the 150th anniversary of Mikhail Lermontov (1964), the theater was named after him. After a successful tour in Moscow (1974), the theater was awarded the title of «Academic Theatre».
