86 years ago Idrisov Kabdykarim, famous Kazakh poet, was born. His first collection of poems “Omir guli” (“Flower of life”) was published in 1955. He is the author of the following books for children: “Zhasyrynbak” (“Hide-and-seek”) and “Arkashan kun conbesin” (“May the Sun always shines”). In his poetical collections “Shuakty kunder” (“Sunny days”), “Armysyn, Arabstan” (“Hello, Arabstan”) and others he glorified heroism and courage, friendship and love. Many poems became songs. He translated into Kazakh language works of O. Gonchar, F. Lorka, poems by Pushkin, Lermontov, Shevchenko, N. Khikmet and so on. In Almaty on the wall of the house on Dostyk ave. where he lived and worked memorial tablet was placed. In Aktogai region where K. Idrisov was born on of the secondary schools was named after him. Every year in schools and libraries Idrisov’s readings, artistic meetings and exibitions of books are organized.
