A gift to the National Museum

At Sh.Kaldayakov Philharmonic in Shymkent was held the Republican action “A gift to the National Museum” organized by the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Head of Regional Department of Culture of South Kazakhstan Kuliya Smailkhankyzy focused on issues of history popularization among young generation and expressed gratitude to the National Museum in her speech at the opening of the event. 

 -There are lots of priceless heritage our young people are not familiar yet. Their value is very high. The issue of collection and storage of the historical artifacts requires great responsibility. We are very pleased that the action «A gift to the National Museum» came to us. It is not an easy work. We are always ready to help in good deeds. I especially want to thank the National Museum staff, who promote our history and culture,- K.Smailkhankyzy said.

 Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Mynbay noted the importance of campaign and expressed gratitude to all participants.

 -The main purpose of the campaign is to draw public’s attention to urgent problems of preservation of our historical and cultural heritage, to revive, restore and forward valuable artifacts to future generations which are in the hands of private entities. Kazakh people say: «If you do not your history you will not be able to predict your future». The spirits, the essence, the worldview of people always stand above many things. It is impossible to estimate by gold or anything else. South Kazakhstan is the region where all true Kazakh has preserved. There is always a place for happiness and prosperity. I want to express my gratitude to all participants who supported our campaign and hand over own priceless exhibits to the National Museum,-D.Mynbay said. 

 The event was attended by descendants and close relatives of such prominent people as Faizulla Urmizov, General Askarov, Sabyr Rakhimov, Asylkhan Ospanuly, Kerimbek Syzdykov, Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov, Bekzat Sattarkhanov, who gave valuable exhibits to the National Museum that belonged to their famous relatives. 

 Erkinay Isabayeva, a kobyz player Musabek Zharkynbekov’s wife gave about 90 priceless exhibits to the National Museum. Veterans of Museology Abdolla Zhumashev, Mirakhmad Mirkhaldorov and a winner of «Alash» award and a famous writer Markhabat Baigus were among connoisseurs and patrons of history and culture. 

 Talented artists and sculptors of the region: Nurlan Shilibayev, Bolatbek Beisbekov, Kulyash Aidarbekova, Ainabek Ospanov, Batukhan Baimenov, Abduakhat Muratbayev, Sultan Iliyayev, Arailym Beisbek, Madina Akhmetova also gave their works to the National Museum. 

 «A gift to the National Museum» campaign officially started on 18 March 2015 at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and continued in Almaty, Kyzylorda and Aktobe. 

 As a result of the campaign, about 300 exhibits were collected in Shymkent all over South Kazakhstan Region.
