90 years ago (1923) Amen Khaydarov, Film Director, Animation Film Artist, Honored Art Worker of Kazakh SSR, Professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.Zhurgenov, one of the founders of the Kazakh animated film, winner of the Presidential Scholarship for outstanding art workers of Kazakhstan, «Tarlan» award and Soros grants. Participant of the Great Patriotic War Native of Karaganda region. Graduated art school in Almaty, VGIK (Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. Gerasimov). Worked at editorial office of the «Kazakhstan women» («Қазақстан әйелдері») journal. Worked with republic editorial staff of «Bumblebee» («Ара»/«Шмель») journal. From 1965 has been working for «Kazakhfilm» film studio. In 1976–1981 acted as Secretary of the Board of the Kazakhstan Cinematographers Union, Secretary of the Board on the animated movie and work with creative youth. From 1981 has been acting as Secretary of the Board of the Artists’ Union of Kazakhstan. In 1967 «Why swallow tail horns», the first painted color animated cartoon based on Kazakh folk tales was released. Produced such cartoon films as «Tail» («Хвостик»), «Insight» («Прозрение»), «Splinters of light» («Солнечный зайчик»). In 1980 for the series of animated cartoons «Aksak kulan» («Ақсақ құлан»), «Khodzhanasyr-builder» («Ходжанасыр-строитель») awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR. Author of several scenarios of produced by him movies. Awarded by «Badge of Honor» («Знак Почета»), «Parasat» («Парасат»). Orders
