The Interstate Cultural Center named after K. Sygyrbayev was opened in Altynzhar village, Volodar district, Astrakhan region. The idea of its creation was suggested in 2003 within the frameworks of the Program of the Year of Kazakhstan in Russia. In this regard, representatives of the Russian side made this proposition to the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev who supported the initiative. The only museum of Kazakh composer in the world have been existing in Altynzhar for 20 years. It has objects of everyday life of Kazakh people dated back to the 19th century: clothes, portrets, the Death Mask of the great kyuyshi, and his musical works.
