Unique exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of tenge opened in Astana

On November 13, the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is hosting the opening of a fund exhibition “Tenge - a symbol of Kazakhstan independence”

On November 13, the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is hosting the opening of a fund exhibition “Tenge - a symbol of Kazakhstan independence” dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Kazakh national currency - tenge. This information was given to astana.kz in the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The exposition will present a wide range of archive documents, photographs and video materials, allowing to remember the 20-year history of establishment and strengthening of the national currency of independent Kazakhstan. There will be unique working records from personal files of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation N.A. Nazarbayev.

In particular, among the showpieces one can see rare investment and memorable coins from the series “The Silk Way”, “The world’s smallest coins”, “Animals”, “World famous mosques”, “Eastern calendar”, “Sport”, “Nomad gold”, “Coins of the old caulkers”, “The Red book of Kazakhstan”, “Patrimony of the Republic” and others made of gold and silver.

It’s worth noting that the exhibition is interesting and unique for here is the full collection of Kazakh numismatics, from the first tenge and tiyn samples to investment and collection coins, bank notes, which lent éclat and recognition of international experts to the Kazakh currency.

Kazakh tenge is bright and nameable masterpieces of typesetting and coin art, and guests of the exhibition will fully realize it, for they will see the collection of production by Banknote printing factory and Kazakh mint of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Introduction of the national currency was a starting point for establishment of the national economy, an important tool for building of market relations in the republic.

Let us recall, the exhibition is held from November 13, 2013, through January 20 of the next year.
