From December 12 to 13, 2013, East Kazakhstan State University named after S. Amanzholov will hold an International theoretical and practical conference "Alash Orda: the origins of Kazakh statehood and modernity".
The conference is scheduled for the plenary session, a roundtable meeting "The Heritage of Alash", presentation, exhibition of books and archival documents.
The Conference will cover the following topics:
•The philosophy of the “Alash” national idea in the present context;
•The archival documents and materials as a source of everyday life under a totalitarian regime;
•The Alash movement and ideas of Kazakh statehood;
•The personalistic и scientific heritage of national intelligence;
•The National Question and the national liberation movement of the peoples of Central Asia in the early twentieth century;
•Social, economic, political and legal views of Alash leaders;
•Intellectuals and power: from cooperation to repression.
