This year marks the 110th anniversary of the outstanding figure of the national culture, one of the founders of professional fine art, people's artist of Kazakhstan Abylhan Kasteev.
In this regard, the State Museum of Art (SMA) of the Republic of Kazkahstan named after A. Kasteyev organized the several events. Thus the new museum of A. Kasteyev will be opened on January 17, in the house where the artist lived and worked since 1957. The exhibition includes the original exhibits: photographs, documents, copies of works and videos, which tell the stories about the life and career of one of the first professional painters in Kazakhstan. The museum offers a unique opportunity to visit the studio of A. Kasteyev, in which can be traced the process of creating of many famous paintings by the famous artist. House-Museum will be a subsidiary of SMA of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A.Kasteyev.
The program of the anniversary celebrations includes the exhibition of the works of A.Kasteyev as well as the fine art masters of Kazakhstan "Artist and Time" from the collection of SMA, and also the international theoretical and practical conference "Historical memory and problems of the cultural heritage."
