5 years ago (2009) for the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression was released the book “Kaium Muhamedhanov: fate and Karlag”. The presentation of the book was initiated by the public fund “Center of education and culture named after Kaium Muhamedhanov” with the support of the Kazakh-British Technical University. Kaium Muhamedhanov (1916-2004) was the student and faithful continuator of scientific concepts of Mukhtar Auezov. He dedicated his entire life to the study of Abay, broadened and deepened the doctrine of the poetic school of the great philosopher. In the most severe years, he continued to study and courageously promote creativity of the best representatives of the national culture like Shakarim Kudayberdy, Akhmet Baytursynov, Mirzhakyp Dulatov, Magzhan Zhumabayev and Jusipbek Aymautov. The book is bases on documents of the 1930s and 1950s and tells the story of the most tragic period in the history of the country – the Stalinists repression on the examples of the life story of generations: father- Mukhamedkhan Seytkulov (1870-1937) and his son – Kaium Mukhamedkhanov. Preserve the memory of the worthy citizens of the country to remember their human and civil heroism – the goal of creating a book.
