On January 2, the Kingdom of Norway was the first State to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Ambassador of Turkey was the first official State representative who presented the credentials to the President of Kazakhstan (April 21). Kazakhstan became a member of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (we know that by 2010 the reputation of the country was so high, that the country got the right to chair the OSCE).
