Zhuban Moldagaliyev — Kazakh poet, translator, journalist, writer, National writer of Republic of Kazakhstan, was born on September 5, 1920, in the village Saykudyk of Taypak district of the Ural region in a poor peasant family. Before the war he graduated the Ural Agricultural College. From 1940 to 1947 served in the Soviet Army, he was the member of the Great Patriotic War. At the front Zhuban served as ordinary gunner, deputy political commissar, commissioner battery and military journalist. After the war he worked in the newspaper offices «Leninshil zhas» (1948 -1952), «Kazakh adebieti» (1955–1956), in the magazine «Zhuldyz» (1958–1963), the first secretary of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan (1953–1954, 1963–1971). Zhuban started his career of writer at the end of 30s and early 40s. Interesting fact should be outlined that it happened during the war time. This is due to the fact that working as military correspondent he was in direct contact with the Russian Soviet poetry such as Sergei Mikhalkov, Mikhail Svetlov and Stepan Shchipachev. They made an impact on Zhuban’s creative development. Working at the newspaper «Frontovaiya Pravda» and «Za pobedu» gave him a good journalistic experience. The first collection of poems was published in 1949 under the name «Zhenis zhyrlary». His poems permeated civil motives and lyrical mood. In the poem «Zhyr turaly» (1963), he praised the heroism of the Tatar poet, Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil. In the book «Zhesir tashyry» (1965), he showed the difficulties that Kazakh women faced in the past and their struggle for their happiness in the present. In the poem «Men Kazaқpyn» is shows the life of the Kazakh people, national characteristics. In the lyrical poem «Ayttym selem» (1967) sang of love and courage. In the poem «Kisen ashkan» (1969), written by the eponymous kui of Kurmangazi, he thoughtfully tells us about the spiritual growth of the people. For this work, which was clearly demonstrated his poetic talent, he was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR (1970). In 1970 he published the two-volume collection of selected works of the poet. Zhuban Moldagaliyev worked successfully in the field of literary translation and journalism. His works have been translated into many languages of the CIS. Some have been published in English, German, Arabic, Spanish, Polish, Mongolian, French, Hungarian and other languages. In his works, the poet praised of his native land, with its enormous transformations, glorified the working people, the new man — the builder and wrestler. Prosperity of the native Republic and peaceful relationship among the people is the central themes of his works. Only 50 years of his work in the literature he wrote hundreds of lyric poetry, more than half a dozen poems. Over the last two «Orlinaya step’», «Sel», he received the State Prize of the USSR, and the book «break the shackles», awarded State Prize named after Abay.
