Signed an agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus on Friendship and Cooperation

The main international legal instrument, which defines the priority areas of bilateral efforts to promote bilateral relations, is the Agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan on Friendship and Cooperation, signed in Minsk on January 17, 1996. There are more than 60 signed international treaties between Belarus and Kazakhstan.

  In May 2011, the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko visited Kazakhstan on an official visit, and in May 2012, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev visited Belarus on an official visit.

  Heads of State of Belarus and Kazakhstan set the specific objectives for the comprehensive development of the Belarusian and Kazakh relations for the two governments, with the emphasis on the expansion of trade, economic, investment, scientific and technological cooperation.

  In order to systematize the collaboration in priority areas, the two Governments, on the biennial basis, developed and approved a plan for the joint actions in order to implement the program of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus for 2009-2016 ("roadmap" for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation).

  The Center of Language and Culture of Belarus on the basis of the Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilev and the Center of the Kazakh language, history and culture named after Abay at the Belarusian National Technical University were created in order to improve the cooperation in the cultural sphere.

  An important component of the Belarusian and Kazakh cooperation is the constructive interaction between the parties in the international arena. Belarus and Kazakhstan cooperate constructively in the UN, OSCE, CSTO, SCO, CIS, EurAsEC, Customs Union and the Common Economic Space, and other international organizations.

The Supreme Council adopted the Law "On Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan"

The Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the Law, dated January 17 1992, “On Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan” according to which, the prosecutor's office became the organ of the supreme supervision over the execution of laws, accountable to the Supreme Council.

  Later they were embodied in the Constitution, which was adopted on the national referendum on August 30, 1995 and in the Presidential Decree having the force of law, dated December 21 1995, "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan embodied the status of prosecutors, their specific powers and accountability to the President of the Republic.

  In one of his speeches, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the role of the prosecution is the core of the entire law enforcement system.
