In 2012 was held the 4th Congress of World and Traditional Religions

Over 9 years of the history, the Congresses of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions always conducted at the peak of complex global processes. Nursultan Nazarbayev states about this during the 4th international spiritual forum in Astana.

«The first congresses, as you remember, were organized as a response to the threat of a clash between religions, use of religion for sinister purposes of international terrorism and extremism», — N. Nazarbayev reminded.

According to him, the previous 3rd congress was held in the midst of the most powerful global financial and economic crisis.

«The current forum, we also conduct at a crucial time for the whole world. The global transformation of the world order has started. Humanity, in fact, is going through a systemic crisis. The global recession, which has appeared on the doorstep of the world, threatening many societies massive social explosion. Today, among more than one billion unemployed in the world, half of them are young people who are well-educated», — said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

May 30, 1595 Tauke Khan hosted Russian embassy headed by Stepanov

In May 1595, Russian tsar sent to the Kazakh government envoys headed by Stepanov. They were shown hospitality and all honors by Tauekel Khan. Russian ambassadors closely acquainted with the life of Kazakhs and delved into the specifics of their life and culture. Such familiarity facilitated the deepening of relations between the two countries. Remembering the assistance provided by the Kazakhs for Russian to conquest Siberia, the Russian Tsar ordered to build in their possession fortified town Tara, which as reliable shield would cover Steppe from foreign seizure.

Birthday of Boris Girshovich, the Kazakh musicologist and composer

Boris Girshovich was the Kazakh musicologist, composer, member of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan (1957), Honored Artist of Kazakhstan (1945), the Kazakh folk music collector and author of works on the Kazakh music.
Since 1931 he collected Kazakh folk music, recorded about 2,500 songs. Boris Girshovich published collections of «the Popular songs of Kazakhstan» (1955), «Kazakh Soviet folk songs» (1959), collections of folk singers-composers Birjan, Mukhit, Zhayau Musy, Abay (1967–1970). His musicological writings and articles devoted to the history of musical culture Kazakhstan. As a composer he wrote pieces for orchestra: Overture on Kazakh Themes (1936), the poem «Tulegen Tohtarov» (1944); two string quartets (1937, 1948); Piano — Variation on folk theme «Yapuray» (1945), Sonata (1947), «Little musician» (20 plays on Kazakh theme, 1960); collection of choirs, songs, ballads, folk processing Kazakh songs.
