In 2006 unique archeological objects were discoveren in the West Kazakhstan Region

In 2006 unique archeological objects dating from the 6th-5th centuries B.C. were discovered on the territory of the Kyrykobinsky complex, Burlinsky district, West Kazakhstan Region.
The works were conducted by the scienticts and specialists of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography named after Alkey Margulan, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Students and academic staff of West-Kazakhstan State University named after Makhambet Utemisov also participated in digs. According to Meyram Seitkereev, worker of the Institute, the finds are of major scientific importance. They gave a look at the past of the region and solved some disputes. In particular, archeologists discovered gilded accessory, sabres were used during the epoch of Saka tribes, objects of cult and daily life, different inscriptions and pictures made on animal skins.

On August 7, 1740 a group of Kazakh biys headed by Zhanibek met with lieutenant-general prince Urusov V.A., Head of Orenburg Commission. Zhanibek batyr and prince Vasily Urusov discussed trade with Kazakh steppe, security of caravan tracks and Russia’s protection.
