A media briefing dedicated to the issues of studying the national history of Kazakhstan took place in Kazmedia Center on August 14. Leading scientists of the Gumilyov Eurasian National University took part in the briefing.
Author of the National Emblem of Kazakhstan, honorary architect, professor Zhandarbek Malibekov, First Press Secretary of the President of Kazakhstan, academician, publicist, script writer, founder of “Mir” interstate TV and radio company Gadilbek Shalakhmetov, founder of “Memorial Zone” searching group, professor Maidan Kussainov, rector of the L.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the National Congress of Historians Yerlan Sydykov, doctor of historical sciences, professor, director of the Center of Humanitarian Research “Eurasia” Ziyabek Kabuldinov were among the guests of the briefing.
At the briefing, Yerlan Sydykov noted that a concept of a ten-volume publication “The national history” was prepared within the National Congress of Historians of Kazakhstan. Besides, in April, the international conference “The history of Kazakhstan: the results of scientific research” was held. To the point, such an event was held in Kazakhstan for the first time.
Besides, the rector of the Eurasian National University noted that the results of the archeological excavation of the mausoleum of the old Turkic emperor in Mongolia headed by scientist of the Eurasian National University Karzhaubai Sartkozhauly stirred up the entire world.
Another important event was opening of the faculty of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian National University this spring for improving the quality of education and scientific research in the sphere of history. The issue on establishment of the UNESCO faculty is still being considered.
“Based on the significance of the set tasks, the Head of State resolved the issue regarding opening of the specialized faculty of history. This will be the first faculty of this level in the country preparing specialists in this sphere. Thus, the Eurasian National University has defined the importance of the historical plans,” Sydykov said at the briefing.
The speakers of the briefing also noted that under the auspices of the National Congress of Historians of Kazakhstan, a new project – international scientific and historical magazine “MANGI EL” was implemented. This magazine will be distributed in the CIS and foreign countries.
